The Company has manufactured equipment with a combined capacity of 300,000 MW, which is installed and is successfully operating in 57 countries across the world. In January 2004 Turbine Blades Plant, Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod and Elektrosila united into one legal entity and joined Power Machines Company. Power Machines is a universal assignee of all the enterprises it comprises. All rights, obligations and assets of all three enterprises were transferred to Power Machines. At the present day main shareholder of Power Machines (Highstat Limited Company with Alexey Mordashov as a final beneficiary) together with the company’s management develops strategy of Power Machines which is an essential part of development strategy of all Russian power engineering complex. Key goals for Power Machines are technical re-equipment and development of production base, purchase of new technologies and Research and Advanced Development, application of modern approaches to business and management, updating and extension of product line with the aim to create competitive production and extend sales areas.
The first start-up complex includes a facility to produce high-capacity NPP-use turbines and turbine generators, a balancing stand, an apparatus production facility, a warehouse, and utilities. The plant’s first phase production program envisages the prodaction of two high-speed and two low-speed steam turbines rated at 1,600 MW each and four turbine generators of the same capacity. The Company plans to complete this project in the middle of 2012, with the plant becoming one of Russia’s largest in the field of engineering, promoting the introduction of new power production technologies and improving the environment.
